Why should I rent from The Vintage Teapot?
Our collection features carefully selected vintage tableware, each piece with its own story and charm. Renting from us lets you create a truly memorable event with hand-picked treasures, without the stress of sourcing, storage, or cleaning. Plus, it's a sustainable choice that allows you to host in style while making your tablescape genuinely unique.
How many guests can you cater for?
Whether it's an intimate tea for two or a grand celebration for 100+, our collection and services are flexible to suit any size of gathering. We can tailor your rental to a small get-together, bridal or baby shower, wedding, garden party, corporate event, or charity fundraiser, ensuring everyone enjoys a beautiful and seamless experience.
How do I choose my tableware, and will it all match?
We're here to guide you with a gentle nudge or a full tablescape plan. While we offer matching duos, trios, and sets, the true magic comes from mixing patterns—the whimsical, mismatched style gives your table its signature character. Most cups and saucers are paired with similarly styled sandwich plates, for harmony with a hint of playful elegance.
What optional extras are available?
To add that extra touch of charm and refinement, you may choose from vintage linens, napkins, floral arrangements, candles, themed props, live musicians, guided tea tastings, specialty teas, bespoke desserts, signage, and curated party favours. Do you provide on-the-day staff, delivery, and set-up?
Delivery is included in your rental cost. For an additional fee, our professional British servers can work alongside you and your guests or coordinate with other vendors, serve during your event, and tidy up afterwards—ensuring your tablescape is perfectly arranged from the moment your guests arrive. Optional set-up and pack-down are also available.
How will my order arrive?
Every piece arrives clean and snug in its basket, ready to charm from the moment it’s unpacked.
Do I need to wash the crockery after the event?
Absolutely not! Simply scrape plates, empty teapots, creamers, and sugar bowls, give the cutlery a quick rinse, then return everything using the provided totes and wrapping supplies. We’ll take care of all the washing, so you can put your feet up and relax after your lovely event.
What happens if something gets broken or damaged, and do you have insurance?
We are fully insured for large breakages; however, accidents can happen. Individual items that are damaged will be charged at full replacement value and deducted from your refundable deposit.
How far in advance should I book?
We recommend booking as early as possible to ensure your chosen vintage treasures are reserved for your special date.
What is your deposit policy?
To secure your date, we ask for a 30% booking deposit, which counts toward your total event cost. This ensures your chosen vintage treasures are reserved just for you. In addition, a refundable damage deposit (based on the value of your rental) is collected to cover any accidental breakages and will be returned after your event, minus any replacement costs.
What is your cancellation policy?
We completely understand that plans can change! Your booking deposit secures your date and contributes toward your total event cost. Should you need to cancel, deposits are refunded in full if more than 30 days’ notice is given, 50% if cancelled 7–30 days ahead, and must be retained for cancellations within 7 days. Life is full of little surprises, and while we hope every tea goes to plan, this ensures your treasured vintage pieces are reserved just for you.
When is payment due?
The remaining balance is due one week before your event to confirm delivery and service.
